it's the hormones talking

Isn’t it sad to see?
Couples in love in love?
So ignorant of the possibility?
That the love they love won’t last?

Is there actually true love?
Or the concept soul-mate?
Can we believe in destiny?
Do people actually trust fate?

Were Romeo and Juliet stupid?
Or too young to know?
that poison actually kills?
And suicidal blows?

Is there one for each?
Is there the word forever?
But what happens to serendipity?
And after ever after?

Cinderella will get fat,
Prince Charming won’t stay charmed,
Jack Dawson didn’t get to cheat Rose,
Well, because in the end he drowned.

What’s the point you ponder?
Why, you may ask?
Well, it’s a waste of time, right?
And you should get a life.

You know sometimes I wonder too…I should come up with a spoof of love stories, or like what happens next after the ‘happily ever after’ where there will be divorce, betrayal, death, or even nature disaster and plague; real life.
Nonetheless, it’s a great piece (I have to say my kind because of the pessimism)! I love it FG. It’s clever

oh, u know what, i think there actually is one short film (about 5 minutes) at you tube. "Disenchanted". about life after ever after. there's goldilocks, sleeping beauty, cinderella, rapunzel, etc dealing with divorce, and other real life problems. it's clever, but i tink you can come up with something wittier.
